Neogene park?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/20/science/20mammoth.html?_r=2&em&oref=slogin

Scientists are talking for the first time about the old idea of resurrecting extinct species as if this staple of science fiction is a realistic possibility, saying that a living mammoth could perhaps be regenerated for as little as $10 million.

The same technology could be applied to any other extinct species from which one can obtain hair, horn, hooves, fur or feathers, and which went extinct within the last 60,000 years, the effective age limit for DNA.

So no pet Raptors? :(
This makes raptor Jesus very very sad

Could they actually resurect the real Jesus?

Why the fuck would people spend 10M to uselessly bring back a fucking mammoth when it would take less than that to save some of the species that exist today from going extinct.

You know, I think that one day I actually will shit in someone's mouth to knock some sense into them.

aw, come on, tell me you wouldn't want a pet sabertoothed tiger if you had a spare 10M... if only to see gonzo and squeek's faces when you bring it home.

Actually, it would cost way more than 10 millions to keep today's species from going extinct.

It would cost capitalism, and seeing how much its costing to keep capitalism alive these days, that would be a bit expensive.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, humanity's emancipation lies in cannibalism. Feed the third world to itself I say, and breed babies for ground meat.

Your 'babies for meat' policy is flawed. The resources required to spawn a baby are far superior to those gained from its nutritional content.

Yes, but that's like saying the effort of acquiring caviar far outweighs its nutritional content. When one seeks baby flesh one does not seek do so for nourishment: one does so because of its succulence.

Bonerpants, are you saying we should drink sperm and cook ovules instead?
Cause I'd rather have a baby.
And I dont think it takes so much resources, considering the fact that the assholes that are the most responsible for the overpopulation of humanity are the ones with the least resources, namely africans, indians, chinese and other subhumans.

and let's not forget the racists. Add them to the bunch.
