I know I should rather be admiring people like Margaret Tatcher or Winston Churchill or Tom Berenger, but no, the only ones who truly get my respect are those meaningless underachievers who still find the strenght to put up with their daily ordeal... If I may, I would like to suggest that you rent the excellent movie Factotum, with Matt Dillon in the role of a washed up alcoholic who cannot give a shit. Another fine example of sub-humanity at its best.
Hey man, that's why they go running. It makes them feel as though they're running away from their meaningless existence. Alright, well I'm off to go run. See ya.
you may still attack it from the the whole "running on treadmill is like running but not going anywhere" analogy to being stuck in a dead end white collar job. this is my gift to you.

Hooray for dehumanizing forces of modernity!

I've always wanted to express the similarities between running/jogging and the rat race.
However, I believe Bonerpants has managed to do it better and funnier than I ever could.
