my landlord is officially the dumbest and most unconsiderate individual in town. i knew he was an asshole from hearing stories from my sister. For one thing, he's kicking us out in july to subdivide the building. Those who've seen my appartment know that this is one of those amazing late 19th century st-joseph blvd. appartments. and dumbfuck wants to subdivide it and turn a triplex into a sixplex! But that's nothing... His idea of safe stairs for the winter is to buy these useless 2" wide sand-paper tapes that usually last about a week and that aren't worth shit if you don't have crampons. So we called him and told him to figure out something better for this year. He came by last week and decided that screwing bolts to the stairs should do the job... and he said "that's the best idea I found!".... you ever heard of winter carpets, moron???? We had also called him to let him know that our bathroom sink and bathtub were totally clogged... so of course he asked us if we had tried unclogging them (duh!)... so i grabbed him last week when he was ruining our stairs and asked him to come check it out, so, of course, he had to give it a try only to tell me "well... yes, it is clogged!" (again... duh!) so he said he'd be back the next day cause i told him i'd be home.. he never showed up... I'm at work right now and i get this text message from my girlfriend who stayed at my place cause she's sick today... "your landlord just woke me up"....
the guy showed up, rang the doorbell and she didn't want to go to the door so she ignored it... the guy uses his key, walks into the appartment (at a time when there isn't anyone, theoretically), goes to the bathrom, unclogs the bath and sink and then for some obscure reason, opens the door to my room where he sees her and goes "oh... sorry..." and leaves...
what the fuck???

One thing I learned in Montreal was that you can make complaints about your landlord through the régie bureau and make his life a living hell. So that, when he tries to rent apartments, new tenants can check with the régie and find out how horrible a landlord he is which means that his building remains vacant for sometime, incurring costs onto him.
If you are up to some paper work, you should file a complaint and follow up with the régie. It is all confidential so he wont know who filed the complaint. Don't be skeptical, if you go by my old building you will realize that it has the highest vacancy rate of it's lifetime... why? you ask... because leaving tennants filed numerous complaints, the régie sent people to see it in action and voila! High vacancy + costs inccured (followed with an evil laugh!).
Also in the winter you can file a complaint with the city regarding the steps... they take that very seriously now due to all the injuries and law suits that happened in 2004.
The régie is a great place of action if you have a quebec french accent! Long live the régie!
BTW - if he enters a room that is not on your list of rooms needing fixing he has violated your civil rights which is clearly stated in the rules at the régie.
On-ward my passionate friend! fuck'em where it hurts!
By that she means take money from his wallet, not to insert a dry broom in his poop-shoot. I am making sure she was being understood properly because "fuck'im where it hurts" can easily be misunderstood. Just ask Salaud about the incident with his brother. Politely.
it's mostly that that pisses me off... the guy opened the door to my room!!!! why??? and who does he think he is??? and my girlfriend's in there sleeping alone, she doesn't know who that idiotic moron is... that really creeps me out... seriously.
totally, you have all my empathy. Those fucking morons... I was in the shower when it happened to me.
"new tenants can check with the régie and find out how horrible a landlord he is which means that his building remains vacant for sometime, incurring costs onto him."
HA!
HAHAHAAAARGG!
Only an ignorant ROC habitant could utter such feckless nonsense about our City's real estate market. Even if a landlord murdered his tenants and hung up their rotten corpse on his appartment's doorsteps people would still be fighting to pay 4 times the acceptable rent value.
Miserable vermin. Why dont you find yourself a rock to go live under. If you're not happy, buy your own house, or build it. Yes, thats right, stop whining and start living for a change, lets go build a house where we can all go live in!
