although interesting that's been thoroughly debunked by astronomers.

I just like how people put together such emotionally charged video montages.

have you seen the whole zeitgeist video (that's where this came from)? If I say it makes Loose Change look like an intelligent and well put together documentary I'm not kidding.

so what was that about?

Maybe I'm trailing a bit here but, from what I understand, this video is obvious bullshit. Never mind the loose associations. Some (if not most) of the facts are completely made up. Now, I'm guessing this is obvious so it must be some kind of weird joke that I don't get. To what level of irony does this descend? What am I supposed to get from watching this video? Are they making fun of esoterics? Or are they just making fun of me? Stop making fun of me!!!

This video should be banned. Its all sorts of wrong wrapped in a colorful package. I can't quite pinpoint why, though. Maybe because it attacks the credibility of those who question religion. Maybe because it exploits ignorance in all its forms. Maybe because it will make me lose sleep wondering why anyone would do this.

Ok, I think I get it. I thought it was absurd to fight lies with fabrications. But I guess that all they're trying to show is that, by lying to our faces and assuming that we'll take their bullshit for granted, we will better perceive the power of lies and realize how absurd it is that some will blindly abide by them. If that's not the message, than I give up

part of it is true: there's a strong link between the sol invictus rituals and christianity but a lot of the astrological stuff is BS.

Dude! Look up the etymology of sunset. I thought it was suspicious as soon as I heard it since the use of "set" in that context is that of a verb which, upon research, strictly has norse and germanic roots and it basically means "to go down". And Horus was one of many sun gods amongst whom Ra was the most prevalent. Though Egyptian mythology is very complex in this matter as it had many competing and evolving cultures, I can tell you that Horus was not THE sun god and to say so is to grossly simplify Egyptian mythology. I can go on about this. Everything they say can easily be debunked. Forget astrology. What's more blatant is their utter horse shit interpretation of mythology in general which is the basis for their argument. I am not saying that no link can be made between Christianity and sun worship but their entire approach is a farce at best and a perversion of the whole idea. A quote in the Wikipedia article about the film says it best: "for a film that rails against deception, there's a lot of deception implicit in its creation."

Here's another quote from the article: "internet bullshit"

oh, no doubt there. like I said, this movie is complete fucking crap.
I'm just saying that independently of this video there are strong links between pagan religions and christianity. Part of it is going to be implementation of pagan rituals into christianity and some of it is going to be incorporated into the christian/jewish mythos (take the Gilgamesh epic for example).

but no doubt about it, this movie is complete and utter garbage.
