Another long weekend

yep.. another long weekend... so this means no work monday morning for you job people...
Sunday night at korova, we have Sexyboy, who's absolutely great and will make you dance... i know that some of you were there at green room when he was mixing last winter (or fall, i can't quite rememeber)...

Also, La Fraîcheur, this hot chick from Paris that came to korova a few weeks back will be going back to Paris and we're having a farewell party for her at korova sunday sept. 9... if you missed her the first time around, make sure to catch her this time around...

Quit Being Cool

I recently read an interesting article, here's a bit of it:

We live in an advertising culture where we are constantly told that the only thing that stands between our current state and wholeness is a particular commodity. It's the central lie of our culture, and the people who hate mainstream culture the most seem to cling to this lie the most intensely. Notice how many "alternative" people define their non-conformity by how readily they conform to an alternate standard? How they buy objects that articulate their rebellion for them? It has become so ingrained in our culture that the current crop of teenagers makes no distinction between consumption and expression. They are frustrated that consumption alienates them from their own feelings and desires, but they express that frustration by consuming more commodities. It's a vicious circle. Let go. Quit being cool.

This is fine in theory, but not in practice if this is what happens...

There are limits, you know.

Des pisseuses : Le peuple québécois

Check out THIS bridge collapse in Fenghuang County, China. Now THAT'S a bridge collapse! Here in Québec, a tiny overpass falls and we get death by inquiry. I don't know what they do in China, but I'm pretty sure it involves finding the one black guy who worked on the bridge, then executing him.

Comment faire une pipe!

Attention, ce n'est pas drole. C'est un sujet tres serieux.

Does not exist. But if it did, I'm sure this would be its official picture.

Right?

Hovercraft

This is a challenging ball game, in which you have to guide the spinning thingy through the levels to your target without colliding with anything. There are many dead ends in the maze, so be careful and avoid picking up too much speed. You will encounter many other obstacles and threats when you proceed further in the game. Remember that you have got limited lives, so avoid hitting the walls or you will lose a life.

restaurant reviews

So I've officially become www.midnightpoutine.ca 's newest food critic! It is all very exciting and gives me a great excuse to wander even farther away from my main goal this summer: the never-ending thesis. Anyway, I was hoping my fellow 19bernardettes could help me get off on the right foot by suggesting some nice, relatively cheap, off the beaten-track places I should review. Even better, if a bunch of us can get together and try a restaurant (the first one I thought of was Maria Bonita), then we can sample a bunch of different things and the review will be that much more complete. Thanks fellow epicures. I look forward to your refined suggestions.

931st post : crevette

Bar Brawl 2007!

Just so you know, Saturday the 25th of August is already booked for youze guys. There's a bar tour happening. On rue St-Hubert.

-''RUE ST-HUBERT ?!?!?!'' I can hear you ask incredulously. I am indeed serious. In fact, take a look at this seriously fearsome list of bars I've tracked down on the stretch we'll be visiting.

Bar de la Plaza, 7152 St-Hubert
Tropical Espresso Bar, 7221 St-Hubert
O' Pools, 7387 St-Hubert
Bistro Bar Bizzwack, 7429 St-Hubert
Bar Stainless, 7467 St-Hubert
Bar Enigma, 7761 St-Hubert
Bar 8004, 8004 St-Hubert
Pub Excalibur, 8073 St-Hubert

Yes, you just saw a list of bars that included O' Pools, Stainless, Enigma, Excalibur and and Bizzwack. *shudder*

Oh, and after having sifted through multiple bars in the vicinity, I've come to the conclusion that Montreal has an unbelievably stupid amount of bars.

So You Think You Live in a Tough Neighbourhood?

Think again.

19's birhtday.

Yup, Its been a year already. A full year filled with spirit crushing quotes and mindnumbing posts by the net's finest procrastinators and other kinds of deviant creeps. I propose a little get together for our society to reminisce over this utter waste of digit oil. Please advise and act upon it, in the meantime enjoy this other picture. It stems from my desire to portray our fine friend Bobo Karaté in his famous brigadier uniform, but instead I ended up with Dork patrol's Simon "not from face up" Leduc.

I'm sorry really.
